The Sweet Singer

Price - $60.00

Add your lead vocal to any of our money-saving packages such as the Sweet Single, or Sweet Single Enhanced for this modest price. You save $30 off the regular studio rate. This includes 3 hours of studio time for you to lay your vocal, and for mixing and mastering.

You may spend this time any way you want it, but we recommend you leave time for us to mix your vocal properly. Basic rhythm instruments such as acoustic guitar, piano, bass and drums require less time for mixing as they lend themselves to background support, and aren't as critical. A good vocal needs more attention. It needs to stand out in spots, and be softer in other spots. Certain technical fixes need to be applied at times.
Example 1. many good singers have harsh sibilant sounds when they sing, the S sounds one makes when singing certain words. We employ technology to smooth out these harsh S sounds without decreasing the clarity of your vocal track.
Example 2. Although breathing sounds are a natural thing, these sounds can sometimes be distracting and need to be dealt with. Remember, all the things one lets slide with in a live situation are amplified and brought out in the studio.
example 3. Some singers are very dynamic. They sing very loud in spots, and very soft in other spots. For a consistant vocal sound, it is not desirable to move around a lot to record in a studio situation. You wouldn't want to hold a microphone in your hand because this would impart noise and so if your vocal has a large range, you will want it to be mixed, and smoothed out in the recording for maximum listening quality.

Remember that if your recording is a demo for a publisher, they will want to hear your vocal delivery properly for the lyrical content. They get thousands of submissions and yours needs to stand out. 4. If you like, we can even apply pitch correction. This is used heavily in pop and country main-stream production today. We like to use this sparingly, since it can take the personality and individual character out of a performance. It is the little imperfections and nuances that make each singer special.
